A week in the life of our Neighbourhood Support Team

Dear Resident,

Ever wondered what our Neighbourhood Support Team get up to during their week of early shifts? It was a pretty busy one for them last week…

They started the week off with conducting a warrant at a house in Westwood in relation to the supply of class A and B drugs. A 34-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were arrested after cannabis and numerous mobile devices were found and seized.

Tuesday saw another warrant take place, this time in Werrington, where £5,000 in cash was seized and no arrests made.

On Wednesday, a 42-year-old man got a rude awakening when they came knocking on his door in Whittlesey with a warrant. He was arrested after a large amount of cash, class A drugs, weapons, and mobile devices were found and seized.

Thursday saw them assisting colleagues from the Met in executing warrants in West Town and Royston in relation to the supply of class A drugs, resulting in the arrests of a 31-year-old man and a 20-year-old man.

Finally, they finished the week by attending Cambridge Magistrates’ Court and secured a three-month partial closure order on a house in Eastgate. This was applied for and granted to protect the tenant due to cuckooing concerns.

The main aim of our NST is to safeguard and prevent exploitation by proactively identifying both exploitation victims, perpetrators, and county lines drug dealing.
